90mm Square Native Pot
A deeper pot – perfect for Native Shrubs and Trees
Air-Pruned Roots
The idea of air-pruning is that when the roots hit the edge of the mix, and can then be exposed to the air, they tend to stop there and form a proper ‘end’. What should follow is that the smaller ‘feeder’ roots will emerge along the length of the root making a stronger, more effective root system within the pot. The air-pruned roots won’t keep growing around and around.
MATCHING TRAYS AVAILABLE – Open mesh base for Air-pruning. The way to achieve this air-pruning effect is to have the 90mm Square Native Pot growing in a crate which keeps the base of the pot from ‘butting-up’ against the ground, which allows air-flow underneath the pot.
Manufactured using virgin & recycled plastic
The 90mm Square Native Pot is made from high quality recycled and virgin material which gives it the perfect balance. They are made to be strong and long lasting but also it means that you are doing your bit to look after the environment.
Our pots no longer need to be put into land fill, they are 100% RECYCLABLE to be converted back into useable products countless times over.
Our Pots contain UV stabilizers
One of the biggest challenges in buying inferior pots out of China is how quickly they break down in the Aussie sun! These pots are made with quality UV additive so you can be confident they will last.
Design and measurements;
Our 90mm Square Native Pot has the following measurements;
Across the Top – 90mm (120mm Diagonal).
Height – 150mm.
Bottom measurements – 65mm across (85mm Diagonal).
Volume;
The 90mm Square Native Pot has a volume of approx. 800ml
Root Trainers;
A Root Trainers are vertical ‘ridges’ that run up and down the inside of the pot (see picture). The purpose of these root trainers is to help the roots not to circle around the sides of the pot and waste the energy of the plant. Roots that will neither strengthen the plant or help in the uptake of nutrient are indeed a waste of the plants energy. Instead the roots should ideally travel to the bottom and fill in the mix right through the volume of the pot. You should start to see healthy root tips appear at the drainage holes. Once the pot is home to good healthy roots throughout the potting media, it is time to pot the plant up to the next size pot, or transplant out into the ground.
Drainage Holes
Our Pots contain a mesh style drainage system as pictured, providing you with adequate drainage in a normal situation.
Taglok Label locking system
The specifically designed Taglok that is moulded into the lip allows you to slip a plant label into the slot and know that it wont come out easily. This system is Patented and used widely by Plant Nurseries and Chain Stores to keep the correct labels on the correct plants!
Crate also available
We have the matching crate available through this listing as well. (See pack size menu for prices).
This product is 100% Recyclable
Polypropylene is a hard but flexible plastic that has good chemical resistance. The good news is that Polypropylene can be turned back into pots and other containers over and over again.
